Longing is a powerful theme woven throughout the Bible, reflecting humanity’s deep desire for spiritual fulfillment and divine connection. It encompasses the desire for full maturity in faith, the eager anticipation of a harvest that will bring in people from every nation, tribe, and language, the profound hope for unity within the Body of Christ, and the unwavering belief in the fulfillment of all God’s promises.
During the 10 Days of Prayer, our church focused on cultivating this holy longing—to draw nearer to Jesus, to reflect His heart for others, and to walk in humility, unity, and purpose. We sensed God calling us to return to simple obedience and wholehearted devotion, to honor Him with our time and priorities, and to pursue what matters most to His Kingdom.
We heard God remind us that He is worthy of all praise, honor, glory, and worship. He called us to persevere in doing good, to walk worthy of our calling, and to faithfully occupy until He returns. His Spirit is compelling us to love deeply, to speak with grace and boldness, and to value every soul with eternal urgency.
We were reminded that Jehovah Shalom, the God of Peace, freely gives His love even when we were far from Him. He provides for every need, invites us to labor alongside Him, and teaches us to find our rest in His presence.
We also encountered Jehovah Shammah, the Lord who is there—our ever-present hope. He has not left us without purpose or promise. Through Jesus Christ, He seeks and saves the lost and invites us to lean fully into His promises with faith and confidence. Our hearts were stirred with a deeper longing to see Him face to face.
Specific words that were given:
“Stop dabbling. Stop wasting time on things that I don’t waste time on. Stop investing where I wouldn’t invest. Know what is for you and stop what is not. Godly boundaries are not suggestions—they are territory lines, and you are God’s territory. Be interested in what He’s interested in. Be curious about what He has to say about things. He is worthy to be trusted.”
“I don’t want to get in the way of God blessing someone, so why would I get in the way of God blessing me.”
“Trust God, and follow Jesus.”
