Our Story

Encounter Church is a non-denominational church that has been part of the Wichita Falls community since 2009. In September of 2016 Pastors Ken and Jeanie Woolf became the lead pastors of Encounter which at that time was called Regeneration Church. In January 2018 the name was changed to Encounter Church to better reflect our vision which is for people in our city, region and around the world to Encounter God, Experience Family and Enlarge the Kingdom of God. 

The Encounter Family has expanded our vision as we’ve reached out in our community and around the globe to offer hope, health and healing to a hurting world. We have community groups that meet throughout the week in our city and the surrounding area.

Our goal is for our Community Groups to have at least one group meeting every day of the week therefore the Encounter Family is meeting “daily.”

In 2024 the mortgage on our current building was paid off and Encounter Church is now debt free!

Encounter Church is expanding its mission with the future establishment of Encounter Church East Campus, which will serve as the church’s new home. In February 2025, Encounter Church was generously gifted the building of Sunnyside Baptist Church, where renovation work has already begun. Encounter Church is ENLARGING the HOUSE because we’re all about PEOPLE!
