Acts 2:17- “In the last days,’ God says ‘I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams.”
Acts 19:2- “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” he asked them.
“No,” they replied, “we haven’t even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”
WHO IS THE HOLY SPIRIT?
1. He is my Inner Voice
John 16:8 – “And when he comes, he will convict the world of its sin, and of God’s righteousness, and of the coming judgment.”
The devil condemns. The Holy Sprit convicts. Conviction, that pain you feel when you’re walking on the beach and you cut your foot on a piece of glass.
The Holy Spirit is an inner voice you need to become familiar with. The Holy Spirit will speak with you today!
Romans 8:16- “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,”
(TPT)- “For the Holy Spirit makes God’s fatherhood real to us as he whispers into our innermost being, “You are God’s beloved child!”
KNOWING THAT INNER VOICE IS SO IMPORTANT! WHY?
2. He is my Teacher
John 14:26- “But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you.”
That’s why we need to know that inner voice. He teaches us all things!
1 John 2:27 -“But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you everything you need to know, and what he teaches is true—it is not a lie. So just as he has taught you, remain in fellowship with Christ.”
3. He is my Guide
John 16:13- “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future.”
NOT EVERYWHERE HE GUIDES YOU YOU’RE GOING TO ENJOY
Isaiah 30:21 – “Your own ears will hear him. Right behind you a voice will say,
“This is the way you should go,” whether to the right or to the left.”
4. He is my friend
John 14:16 – “And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—“
Helper- One called along side of you to help you!
2 Corinthians 13:14- “The amazing grace of the Master, Jesus Christ, the extravagant love of God, the intimate friendship of the Holy Spirit, be with all of you.”
It begins with the cross and then leads to the intimate friendship with the Holy Spirit.
CONCLUSION:
Ephesians 4:30 – “Don’t grieve God. Don’t break his heart. His Holy Spirit, moving and breathing in you, is the most intimate part of your life, making you fit for himself. Don’t take such a gift for granted.”
PRAY THIS DAILY:
1. Holy Spirit Show Me!
Ezekiel 36:26-27 – “And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart. And I will put my Spirit in you so that you will follow my decrees and be careful to obey my regulations.”
Psalm 139:23-24 – “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you; and lead me along the path of everlasting life.”
2. Holy Spirit Change Me!
Now when He shows you something ask Him to change you!
It’s important that you don’t stay where you are!
2 Corinthians 3:17-18 – “For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.”
3. Holy Spirit Fill Me
Give me everything you have!
How many of you can say “I have everything God has to offer?”
Ephesians 5:18 – “Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit,”
Don’t follow your senses. “BE FILLED WITH THE SPIRIT!”
Acts 13:52-“And the disciples were continually filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.”
BY MYSELF IS NOT ENOUGH. WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT YOU ARE NEVER ALONE!
OPEN YOUR LIFE TO THE PERSON OF THE HOLY SPIRIT!
