The purpose of this teaching is to help you be a healthier happier you. Be all you can be, who God created you to be.
I’m going to give you some ingredients of growth that will help you move forward!
IF I WERE TO ASK YOU: How do you get over depression, anxiety, stress, an addiction. What would your answer be?
There’s probably a thousand answers to these questions.
At the end of the this session I want you to go away with a formula, the formula on how to make anything better!
I HATE FORMULA’S but this is one that works and you can depend on it!
It’s a formula you see all through the Bible.
HOWEVER YOU APPROACH IT 3 INGREDIENTS ARE NECESSARY.
Luke 13:6-9- “Then Jesus told this story: “A man planted a fig tree in his garden and came again and again to see if there was any fruit on it, but he was always disappointed. Finally, he said to his gardener, ‘I’ve waited three years, and there hasn’t been a single fig! Cut it down. It’s just taking up space in the garden.’
“The gardener answered, ‘Sir, give it one more chance. Leave it another year, and I’ll give it special attention and plenty of fertilizer. If we get figs next year, fine. If not, then you can cut it down.”

(3). ENTERS THE ADVOCATE
1 John 2:1- “
NO GROWTH HAPPENS UNTIL THIS OCCURS! Jesus steps in, the one who is responsible for making this happen.
The first thing He says, “Work harder, pray harder, read your Bible more!”
NO! The first thing He says is “STOP JUDGING!” “GIVE IT ONE MORE CHANCE.”
Say NO to the condemnation that is coming against you right now.
In Romans 7 it seemed life Paul was caught in this cycle. But then there’s the next verse:
Romans 8:1- “
When Jesus walks in the room. Both God and man walk in the room. Jesus the incarnate!
Jesus the head of the Body, which each of us is a part of.
Ephesians 4 talks about the whole body being connected together and as each part does what it’s supposed to do the whole body grows.
The Bible tells us to confess our faults to one another and pray for one another that we may be healed.
SO we have an infected finger. How is that finger healed. BY BEING CONNECTED TO THE BODY.
Here’s what we do in the church. God get healed and then come and connect with the Body!
The way the Body is designed it heals through CONNECTION! When the Body is working together IT HEALS!
IT STARTS WITH THE BODY SAYING, “WE STRUGGLE TOO, THERE’S NO CONDEMNATION HERE!
(4). IN STEPS THE ADVOCATE, NOW LET’S GET TO WORK, NO CONDEMNATION
Some people say, “well Jesus accepts me just the way I am.” But here’s the deal, other people have to live with you!
You might be accepted but we ain’t done! We have work to do!

- Fertilize
- Time (Give it a Year)
Here’s the deal, it’s not a one time treatment. You can’t take a tree and DIP it in the ground once a week and expect it to grow! True planting is a PROCESS, water, pruned, fertilized.
THE HEALING PROCESS

Dig up the truth! In a broken down car the mechanic knows what to look for!
The mechanic searches for the truth of why the vehicle is broken.
The truth is a standard we are supposed to reach but the truth also reveals where we are in relations to that standard.
If you want your vehicle worked on, you take it to a professional. Someone who knows what they’re talking about.
The trouble we have in the church is sometimes we’re like the blind leading to the blind. They’re selling they’re own denial system!
Go to someone who brings something to the party!
You ever know someone who brings nothing to the party but they want to tell everyone how to do it! TALK TO SOMEONE WHO HAS EXPERIENCE!
What were the triggers, where did the wound come from?
Jesus told the religious people, “You clean the outside, but you don’t go inside! WHAT’S CAUSING THE PROBLEM!
DIG AROUND THE TREE, FIND THE TRUTH.
2. FERTILIZE
Grace does not equal acceptance! God accepts me just the way I am. Yes that’s a manifestation of grace!
Grace is the unmerited favor of God!
I can’t fix myself! SO somebody needs to step in and give the tree something it cannot produce on it’s own! WHAT IT NEEDS TO GROW!
I CAN’T SELF HELP! I’VE GOT TO GET FERTILIZED!
The Bible gives so much support, correction and help for you! GOD’S GRACE! HE STEPS IN AND DOES WHAT ONLY HE CAN DO!
THEN THE BODY MUST IMITATE JESUS CHRIST.
The Bible tells us to heal the brokenhearted! It doesn’t tell the brokenhearted to heal itself!
Help the weak, don’t tell the week to help themselves!
3. TIME
The fear that you’re struggling with, the Body is designed to help you! BUT, it’s not about one visit, it’s not about one meeting!
You can’t just read a book and be well. It’s not about just one injection!
God does not expect you to change by your own knowledge, your own wisdom. If you could HE would not have had to come and die!
Think about how much God believes in your inability to change yourself. He embraced the idea of our inability so much that He died for it!
What are we doing judging ourself or someone else when Jesus dies to stop the judgement!
BUT HE DIDN’T DIE TO LEAVE US WHERE WE ARE!
He died to begin the process of removing judgement that kills the growth and bringing us us the grace and the truth that are realized in Him over a process called sanctification that will heal the problem!
WHAT IS THE FORMULA FOR GETTING UNSTUCK?
- Stop judging
- Dig around and find the truth
- Fertilize the tree- Grace- God’s unmerited favor
- Give it time- that’s connection
